Wow That’s Colorful…Hair!

One of the hottest trends going is colored hair. No, not the traditional blonde, brunette or red. Rather, the hottest colors in fashion hair right now are far from any color any one is actually born with. If you want to be on the cutting edge of style, you need colors like pink, purple, or orange. In fact, being blue-haired is no longer an age-related put-down. It’s now a highly sought after hair treatment!

Then there are the women, under forty, who are choosing to go gray. And, by “go gray” I don’t mean show natural gray coming through, rather I mean color their entire head of hair in a grayish silver tone. It’s a hot color trend too that some are calling “Granny hair.”

It’s obvious that bold colored hair requires some, “I’m not afraid to stand out from the crowd” kind of courage. But, what a fun way to show your personality, right? I’ve had friends get just a dab of purple or pink in the front of their lighter locks. While, another friend did a gorgeous ombre style with the tips all in navy blue. I think the only thing limiting what you can do in this new kind of hair color trend is your imagination.

Glasses with Colorful Hair

So, what color glasses do you wear with your purple, gray or blue hair? Your options are limitless, but my recommendation is that you don’t shy away from color. I mean, if you are going to go to all the trouble of getting a dynamic color on the top or back of your head, you might as well have some equally dynamic color on your face!

Choose a frame that blends well with your hair color, though you don’t necessarily match it. My best advice is to figure out the tone of your hair and skin (hopefully these two blend, somewhat) and then find a frame in that same tone family.

In other words, if you have navy blue hair and yellow or gold undertones in your skin, then you’d probably look great in glasses that are warmer toned. If you have pink undertones and, say, pink hair, then you can choose a cool tone frame.

Here are a few great examples of designer eyeglass frames (at incredible prices) that would look fabulous with your colored hair.

This darker, violet colored frame, is still dynamic but would look best with warmer hair colors and skin tones.
