Three Things Your Glasses Should Match

glasses-purseShould your glasses match your watch? Your purse?  Your car?  Does it matter?

Probably not.

There are three things that I firmly believe your glasses need to match.  These are non-negotiable.  You may need two frames (at least) to keep this rule consistently.  But, don’t stress about that. Eyeglass World has you covered with their super low prices and buy-one-get-one-free bargains on some of the hottest designer frames available.

So, what should your glasses match?

#1 Your glasses should match your personality

Don’t be a poser.  If you aren’t a hipster, you don’t need those over-sized black Wayfarers™.  Likewise, if you’ve never owned a leather (or even a denim) jacket, aviator sunglasses are probably not for you.  You need to know who you are and pick a designer frame that matches your style.  This is going to be the number one key to that same frame coordinating with your wardrobe.  If you pick an eyeglass frame that shouts “you” chances are it’ll also work well with your go to dress and that favorite tee you probably wear a little too often.

#2 Your glasses should match your coloring

Generally, if your skin tone is cool pick a cool toned frame, if your skin tone is warmer, likewise, stick with browns, honey-tones, and warmer colors.  (To tell: flip your wrist and see if it looks more pink or yellow — pink is cool, yellow is warm).  If you have beautiful auburn hair, don’t pick a clashing ruby red eyeglass frame.  Similarly, if you are a silver fox, stick to grays and blacks, and avoid gold-toned tortoise shell.

#3 Your glasses should match your mood

One of the greatest benefits to wearing glasses is how much they can communicate about how you feel.  For example, wearing my metal “librarian” reading glasses to every exam in college communicated that I was prepared and ready for the test and made me feel a little smarter!

Are you in a relaxed mood? Then over-sized sunglasses frames may be as chill as you. Or, if you’re in a let’s-get-down-to-business kind of mood, then a strong, rectangular, tortoise-shell frame will fit the bill.  You get the idea.  But serious glasses when you are in a fun, let loose, kind of mood just won’t work.  Have options!
