Eyewear Icons – Jackie O.

When you think of someone whose style could be described as “timeless” and “classic” in fashion, one person always makes that list: Jackie Kennedy Onassis. She was the focus of attention through out her husband’s, Former President John F. Kennedy, campaign and following administration. Making pillbox hats, A-line skirts, and of course, those signature oversized sunglasses, a sensation across the world.

Even four decades later, Jackie O. is still remembered for her influence on not just fashion during her time in the White House, but the way American women dress even today. “Effortlessly elegant” has been a phrase used to describe The First Lady’s sense of style.

Oversized Sunglasses

The oversized sunglasses were always a part of her signature look. She accessorized her minimalistic outfits with not jewelry, but glasses. She made large sunglasses famous around the world, and the trend still continues today. In fact, brands like Ray-Ban® have named their glamorous oversize specs after the Former First Lady herself. Ray-Ban® 4101 Jackie Ohhs. Her husband was quite the trendsetter himself. JFK was quite often photographed sporting Wayfarers™.

Jackie O. is a style too various to encompass. But one thing is for sure, it’s glamorous, it’s elegant, and it’s definitely timeless and for those reasons, the “Jackie O. look” is definitely worth investing in.  As for those stylish glasses, get as many as you can.
