Trendy Tuesday: A White Hot Look!

Bright colors, black, and shades of blue…Yes, you’ll see all these vibrant colors on the runway and in store windows at least until July.  But, there is one color (or perhaps non-color) that is a spring and summer favorite, year after yearIt always looks fresh. It always looks crisp.  It always looks light and seasonally appropriate.  That color is white!

A clean, pressed, pair of white cotton pants or well-fitting white jeans should be just as much a wardrobe staple as that go-to pair of black slacks you own.  Paired with a bright colored top and some bold jewelry, this is the quintessential spring look.

Another item you may want to add to your closet this year is a white denim jacket or one of this season’s feminine looking white cardigan sweaters.  Nothing drags a great spring outfit down like having to pull-on your black sweater or a fall-colored jacket with your pretty spring dress just because it’s just a little too chilly outside and you have no other option.

Many women already know that a brand new (well-made) white tee or tank should be an annual purchase.  These items get worn a lot and start to fade and stretch out.  I recommend restocking with a new white tank or tee (or maybe both) every spring.

My favorite way to add white is with accessories!  Yes, another look that I love is white jewelry!  It can add a gorgeous contrast to your neon bright solids or to your geometric or floral spring patterns.

And, you won’t be surprised that I also love the white glasses look.  I noticed a great pair of white cat eye sunglasses in a designer’s runway photo recently and I think they are a fashion do!

Gone are the days when your glasses have to be dark in color. In fact, the new white and patterned-white designer eyeglass frames offer a really fresh and sophisticated look that can brighten up your entire face.  If you are looking for a new designer eyeglass look this season, consider a pair that incorporates white for a modern look.

If you don’t like how white looks around your lenses (granted this color doesn’t work on all skin tones)–there are many great frames that have white temples or incorporate a lot of white into the earpiece pattern.

Here is a pair you may love.  When you are updating your Spring wardrobe, stop by your closest Eyeglass World and try-on a few frames like this one:
