Sunwear You Need for the Slopes

I love going skiing.  No, not because I love the rush of heading down a mountain at lightening speed with nothing to stop me. I actually hate that part.  No, what I love is the lodge. Sitting by the fire in super cute ski attire or the great restaurants they have in ski towns.  Ahhh… sitting out on a patio after a tough day of watching the other skiers while enjoying a nice beverage…Yes, that’s the part of love: the winter fashion show that is the ski village.

This winter there are so many pretty looks out there.  Ski jackets that once were bulky and ugly are now form fitting and classy.  There are patterned jackets even – with feminine flowers, great geometric designs, or wild animal prints.

Bright girly colors are also popular for women on the slopes this season.  Following the pattern of last year’s hot bathing suit trends, you no longer have to match your ski pants to your jacket.  This year on the slopes having bright bottoms and dark tops, or two contrasting colors in your waterproof jacket and pants, is a hot look no matter what color trail you choose.

But, what every skier or snowboarder knows that the slopes are painful without a great pair of sunglasses or goggles! Whether you are more of a lodge girl, like me, or a Lindsey Vonn wanna be – your most important accessory is a great sunglass or goggle frame!

Spend more time sipping cocoa than skiing?

Then you’ll be fine with a pair of designer sunglass frames, like this pair from Ralph Lauren that I totally love.  Big, bold, brow line frames are hot this year and this frame does that with a touch of sophistication.

Black Nude Colored Sunglasses for Women

Are you more of a rush-down-the-mountain-at-50-miles-per-hour, kind of person?

Then you’ll want a great pair of sport goggles for your journey.    Check out this cool pair that comes in black or white (I love the white though!) by Rec Specs.  You’ll want to get a polarized sunglass lens put in them and then they will be your best friend when the sun is beating down hard in your face as you get ready to head down your next black diamond.

Shiny Black Sports Goggles

If you are active but aren’t so sure about going with a full blown sports goggle,

a pair like this could be a good in between for you.  This sunglass by Rec Specs features a light wrap around style that will keep the snow, wind, cold, and sun out from the front and both sides.  I think it’s a pretty classy looking frame for a sports goggle!

Remember, the sun’s rays are dangerous for your eyes – even in the winter! So, sun protection on the slopes is essential.  Check out the full selection of stylish and fashionable sunglasses and other protective eyewear at Eyeglass World.  While you are there you may want to pick up a new designer regular eyeglass frame too because at Eyeglass World you always get two pairs for one low price!
