Princess Kate’s Eyeglass Style

There is no one more regal and glamorous than a Princess, right?

And Princess Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, has certainly not disappointed us in that arena.  She has a fabulous sense of style and grace.  She wears clothing that is classic and timeless, and sets global fashion trends based on her fantastic fashion choices.

I’m not sure how well the Princess scores in a vision test.  Although she may wear contact lenses, I’ve never seen her wear glasses other than sunglasses and some (not even close to being stylish) 3D glasses. The paparazzi went wild over of the photographs of her wearing the flimsy 3D frames and how great she looked in them! 

Why did she look so great in those 3D glasses?  Well, it’s because Kate has an oval shaped face that lends itself well to wearing designer eyeglasses –even if just for fashion reasons.  With her coloring she’d look best in darker frames.  I’d choose black or navy blue frames for her over brown or tortoise.  I also think she’d look best in a statement frame –like a bolder plastic frame — versus a more subtle metal or rimless frame.

So, what kind of eyeglasses would the world’s most stylish princess of the decade wear? We’d have to ask her of course.  But, here are the frames I think would look fantastic on her and may match her style.

This first frame may be a little too wild for the Princess but it’s made by Vera Bradley and features a black front with a touch of cream on the side and a trademark Vera Bradley pattern on the inside of the temples only.  I think this shape would be fantastic for the princess, even if the pattern was a little too bold for her tastes.

Another option that would look beautiful is this Daisy Fuentes frame called “Peace.”  Again, I’ve chosen the black color with a duotone cream.  I’m not sure how she’d feel about the tiny peace sign on the temple, but perhaps it could help her make a statement for all the charity and humanitarian work she does as a part of her royal duties.

 

This last frame I think would look fantastic on Princess Kate is by DKNY. It’s actually a sunglass frame.  It’s over-sized styling and black color would get the Princess noticed for the right reasons– allowing the glasses to make a fashion statement without overpowering the beautiful princess.

The great news is, if Princess Kate can’t decide which pair is right for her, if she’d shop at Eyeglass World she could get two pairs for the same low price.  Although that may not matter much to a British Monarch, it matters to most of us without tiaras!
