Prescription Sunglasses Are A Must For The Sun

So there are a lot of things out in the world that you just don’t need. (Hello, TV Guide!) We’re pitched hundreds of things daily that are essentially unnecessary. From powered, automatic wine openers to savvy shopping bag holders, we are bombarded with items that do us absolutely no good. And naturally, we become desensitized.

Prescription sunglasses aren’t one of those things. Unlike the can opener that has a kitchen timer or a knife sharpener that plays Beethoven while it efficiently opens your cream of mushroom soup, prescription eyeglasses are actually a necessity.

Any eye care professional will tell you the incredible importance of a good pair of sunglasses. Hundreds, if not thousands, of health issues begin with simple UV exposure. Your eyes are no different. Anywhere from cosmetic flaws – such as wrinkles, aging, pigmentation on the whites of your eyes – to more serious issues such as cataracts and even macular degeneration.

In fact, in winter months when there seems to be less sun, the UV rays actually double. They’re able to reflect off of snow, as well.

If you’re anything like me, deciding whether you’ll wear contacts or eyeglasses that day depends on whether you want to wear sunglasses or not. And that’s not a decision you should have to make, nor should you sacrifice your eye health (or your fashionable eyeglass wardrobe, for that matter) for sunglasses.

And with prescription sunglasses, there’s no need.

I wear my favorite pair of designer eyeglasses, and, when I get outside, I simply slide them off and replace them with a killer pair of prescription Ray-Ban® cat eye sunglasses that I absolutely love.

I love wearing my eyeglasses. They aren’t just something I need – they’re something I want. I understand they say a lot about me even before I speak, and I like that. And as much as I like that, I hate worrying about wrinkles, I hate buying anti-aging moisturizer, and I absolutely hate and fear developing an eye condition like cataracts.

So if you haven’t already, visit your local Eyeglass World store and check out all the amazing designer sunglasses they offer. This way you don’t have to choose fashion or health – you can have both.
