Matching Your Emerald!

It’s official. The “it” color of 2013 has been named and the winner…is emerald!

What’s not to love about this beautiful shade of green…or is it blue? Either way, it’s a fantastic color on just about every skin tone and will be showing up everywhere this year…by way of emerald jewelry, clothing, and accessories.  I love that this beautiful color is being used in every way imaginable.

Emerald is also a great color for people who wear glasses!  Why? Because it matches the two biggest color tone categories of eyeglass frames — black and brown (often called tortoise shell).  Emerald is one of those colors that looks great when combined with cool tones (the black) and with warm tones (the browns) — so it’s truly an eyeglass wearer’s dream.

If your wardrobe is getting an emerald makeover this winter, I want to recommend a few of my favorite eyeglass frames that will look fantastic with this hit color.

I like this frame by D&G as it’s a little larger in size and has a very hip lens’ shape.  It’s also a little more on the dressy side if your favorite emerald pieces are what you wear to dress up.

This next frame by DKNY will be a super cute accent to those funky emerald earrings or that cozy emerald-colored sweater.  It’s bold brown and purple colors will complement the green tones beautifully.

Have a rounder shaped face?  Then check out these two frames, both of which will look fabulous with the color emerald.  The first frame from Anne Klein is perfect for those with warmer skin tones.  Personally, I love brown and emerald together and this shade of brown is the perfect shade to combine with it.  The second frame is your best pick if cooler tones are your friend.  It will also look great with this year’s hot color — dressed up or dressed down!
