How to Perfectly Match Your Glasses to Your Outfit

In the past I’ve blogged about whether or not your glasses should match your shoes or your purse…your belt or your outfit…your earrings or your necklace… Really, the list goes on and on as to the ways you could choose to match (or not match) your glasses with the rest of your attire.

I’ve also suggested that the most important things that your glasses match be unchangeable things, like your personality or skin tone. But today I want to take all of my matching suggestions one giant step forward.

Try Matching to Just One Thing for a Dynamic Look

Follow me here. How incredibly eye-catching would it be to wear that black jumpsuit with bright purple heels and your bright purple designer fashion eyeglasses? I think it would look dynamic.

Not into head and toe matching? Well, then how about choosing a great pair of eyeglasses that just so happen to perfectly coordinate with your new cardigan? To me, this is a fashion win.

Another suggestion: What about matching your glasses to your belt? You could go neck to ankles in denim, throw in a belt with a pop of orange or ketchup (one of this season’s hottest shades of red) and then find a name brand eyeglass frame that would catch that same color and draw all the attention right up to your eyes. Love it.

Embrace the Sprinkle Effect

If just matching your glasses to one other accessory item or piece of apparel isn’t enough for you, than try, what I call, the sprinkle. Pick a basic, monochromatic color scheme for your clothing, and then add 4 “sprinkles” of color. For example, you could pair some gray ponte pants with a lighter gray tee shirt and a darker gray blazer. Then, add some navy blue heels, a heavy navy blue bangle, a necklace with some navy in it and finally a great navy eyeglass frame. Your pops of color will give a polished look to your entire outfit.

Start with Your Glasses and Match From There

Another great matching idea is to find a pair of glasses with a temple pattern you love (Vera Bradley has some gorgeous floral prints if you are looking for a starting place). Then, choose two of the coordinating colors in the pattern and match your outfit accordingly.

Whatever you decide you want your glasses to match (or not match) know the possibilities are endless. And, know that Eyeglass World has your back with the best prices on designer eyeglass frames so you can have a pair to coordinate with whatever you wear!
