Feathered Friends Fashion

Be kind to your feathered friends…because they may just be your best source of fashion inspiration this Spring. Yes, feathers are back. And, I’m not quite certain how I feel about it.

While I’ve seen some runway looks that took feathers a little too far, I think a feather or two can be a pretty addition to a feminine sweater or dress. This season we’ve been told feathers will be showing up on shoes and jewelry as well. This piques my interest for sure.

Bold or Understated?

Though I visualize over-sized feather earrings and the like, I’ve been told that feathers will be presented with options this season. You can go bold and wild with them, or you can choose to take the more understated, lightly feathered, approach. I recently saw a dress in a fabric with a feather print and thought that would be more to my liking than anything that was actually covered in feathers.

Contrasting or Monochromatic?

You can use contrasting colored feathers to accessorize, or choose feathered accessories in the exact same tone as what you are wearing to achieve a monochromatic look that will be hot this season, too.

Choosing Glasses for Feather Style

Do feathers go with glasses? That’s an interesting question. I think the best designer eyeglass look to go with your feathered fashion would be a glamorous one. I don’t think last season’s black geek chic look or even an ultra modern duo tone color frame are what you want to choose to go with feathered-up style.

My top choice for an eyeglass frame style to match feather-inspired style would be an all-metal eyeglass frame like this one from Daisy Fuentes. Depending on the amount of feathers you are wearing, the touch of animal print on the side may or may not be too much. But, with a few simple feathers, I think this frame would add a pretty touch to your look.

I also like this simple, but feminine frame from Sophia Loren. It’s small and not overpowering so that gives you more space to feather it up if you want to!

Spring’s almost here so hopefully these feathered ideas will help you take flight on this latest fashion trend. There are lots of other great designer eyeglass frames that would also look great with some feathered flare. Check them all out online at Eyeglassworld.com.

P.S. Don’t worry. If you are concerned about where all these feathers are coming from, most fashions will utilize synthetic feathers. No fowl will injured for the sake of this fashion trend.
