Fashion’s Summer Crop

crop-top-fashionIt’s official.  Crop tops are back.

As someone who’s survived four pregnancies…my abs aren’t all that excited about this returning trend.  But, for those of you who are younger or have time to do more crunches…this may be great news.  Belly-bearing is in!

I lived through the first few rounds of this trend and it seems like this time around the midriff exposure may be even a little more extreme than it was in the 80s or 90s. Crop tops come in all lengths but some of what is considered en vogue resembles more of a Madonna-esque brassiere top, stopping right below the bust line.  I’ve seen different styles ranging from fitted, shrunken t-shirt look crop tops, to sleeveless or one shoulder styles, flirtier and frillier looking belly abdominal exposing blouses.

Want to get the crop top look but aren’t confident about your mid-section? Then try pairing a longer, lean tank top with a crop top over it. Or, throw a sheer or lace blouse over your shrunken shirt to disguise it just a bit.

Whatever our level of abdominal confidence, the right glasses look for a small shirt is a big pair of sunglasses.  In fact, the smaller your shirt, I say, the bigger your glasses should be!  Come on, even if you have six pack abs, you’ll still want to draw some attention up, to your face, right?

Here is a great pair of sunglasses that will go great with any mini shirt!

If you are going for that 70s era, peace-child look (maybe sporting a cut off fitted tee that shouts a peace, love or rock and roll message?), then I think this is your ideal sunglasses frame.  DKNY does the metal classic sunglasses frame well in this super cool pair.

The great news is, each of these frames is guaranteed to look good just as good with a tunic as it does with that bustier.  Check out the great selection of sunglasses frames at EyeglassWorld.com.
